In 1969 I served as a medic in Vietnam near the Cambodian border. After one of the battles I cared for an eight year old boy whose family had been killed. His leg was amputated below the knee and he had several other wounds. As a result of caring for him for several weeks, we grew emotionally attached to each other. Through a two year process with many obstacles, my parents were able to adopt and bring him to our home in Denver, Colorado. He is now married and has four children.

In 1972 I married Pat, we had two sons, adopted a boy from Cambodia, and took in several other children from Cambodia, and Vietnam

In March, 2000 I was invited by a group of U.S. Army medics, and nurses to visit Vietnam and find out how that nation was faring nearly 30 years after the war. I found it was doing much better than I had expected. Near the end of the trip, I joined one of our Cambodian sons and visited his former country. It was immediately apparent that Cambodia was not doing nearly as well.

After returning home, God would not allow me to forget the hopeless plight of the orphaned children living on the streets. The sad images from my recent visit would not let me rest. I knew God wanted me to do something. My wife and I looked at our small savings and decided to see what could be done. Surprisingly, we were able to return and build a small orphanage for a little over $8,000. We are now able to care for 10 orphans, and a widow and her child, a caretaker and a teacher.

Through God's provisions we are sending approximately $450 a month to keep the orphanage supplied with enough food, and a few of life's necessities. There are so many more orphans that need help!

With your generosity, we can reach one more.

There is room on the property to build nine more structures that can provide homes for ten children and their caretaker in each. That's 90 more orphans rescued from a dismal existence of life on the streets of an impoverished third-world country.

Orphanage main entry

Please help us save more homeless, and parentless children. The cost to feed and care for one child is $32 per month. If you can invest in one child on a monthly basis, it would change his or her life immeasurably. Your one time gift is also much appreciated as it will give us the opportunity to build additional homes. 100% of your donation will go towards the feeding and care of the orphans and their caretakers; none of your money is spent on administrative costs.

Please ask God what He would have you do.

Child Rescue

Through decades
of war, exploding land mines, poverty, and rampant diseases such as AIDS, Cambodia's orphan population continues to grow.
Without providers, these orphans are forced to beg or forage through trash dumps for food. They are often the victims of serial predators and violent assaults. Life for these defenseless children is absolutely desperate!
